Georgetown’s Apparatus

All Georgetown Fire Department apparatus are equipped with BLS medical kits, and ANSI compliant vests for increased firefighter safety.  All frontline pieces of apparatus are equipped with AED’s and all primary structural apparatus have their own thermal imaging cameras.  These important technological advances are key components of both firefighter safety and the safety of the public that we serve.
CAR 1
Car 1
2015 Ford “Fire Interceptor” AWD, outfitted for incident command responses with a cabinet accessible from rear with a dry erase board and multiple file cabinets, SCBA and a set-up radios for VHF/UHF.  The vehicle is also set up with a Crossband Repeater for use in Essex County and is one of five designated units to respond on multiple-alarm incidents where VHF and UHF frequencies can be banded onto one portable or mobile radio.

Ladder 1
Ladder 1 is a 2007 Ferrara 107′ HD Aerial Ladder. Based out of the Central Station it has seating for six firefighters.  L1 is euipped with its own thermal imaging camera, PPV fan, rotary saw, roof saw, a full complement of truck company tools as well as a 10kw hydraulic generator, pre-piped waterway, electric and air reels.  L1 also carries over 150′ of ground ladders as well as the majority of the departments technical rescue gear.  In addition, L1 carries the Rapid Intervention Team equipment for the GTFD

Engine 1
Engine 1 is a 2005 E-One Typhoon II based out of the Central Station that is set up for structural firefighting.  E1 has seating for six firefighters, a 1500gpm pump and carries 750 gallons of water.  E1 is equipped with its own thermal imaging camera, chain saw, electric reels, a 6000 watt Command Light for scene lighting and a remote controlled deck gun.  Carrying over 1000 feet of 4″ supply line and four pre-connected hand lines of 1 3/4 and 2 1/2 inch hose; E1 is ready for any situation.

Engine 4
Engine 4 is a 1996 E-One based out of the Erie Station.  E4 has seating for six firefighters, a 1250gpm pump and carries 750 gallons of water. E4 is equipped with its own thermal imaging camera, CO and gas monitoring devices.  E4 also carries over 1000 feet of 4” supply line and has three pre-connected hand lines of 1 ¾ and 2 ½ inch hose.  E4 formerly served for the Boeing Aircraft Company in Germany.

Combo 4
Combination 4 is a 1986 Pierce/International that is based out of the Erie Station. C4 has seating for three firefighters, a 450 gpm pump and carries 500 gallons of water.  C4 is used for medical first response in the North end of Georgetown as well wildfire and urban interface situations. This truck formerly served with the East Farmingdale NY Fire Department.

Engine 5
Engine 5 is a 1999 HME/Central States that is based out of Central Station, this was the town’s first fully enclosed piece of apparatus.  E5 has seating for six firefighters, a 1250gpm pump and carries 750 gallons of water. E5 is set up for operating along with the Rescue for motor vehicle accidents.  Equipped with a top mount pump for operator safety, E5 carries a second set of hydraulic rescue tools, and added warning devices for use on the roadway.  E5 also is our primary hazardous materials response apparatus, equipped with its own thermal imaging camera, booms, dykes, oil dry, CO and gas meters as well as other necessary tools and equipment for haz-mat duties.  E5 is also equipped with a laptop computer, electric reels, a generator and tripod lights for scene lighting.  Carrying over 1000 feet of 4” supply line and five pre-connected hand lines of 1 ¾ and 2 ½ inch hose, E5 is a true all-hazards piece of apparatus.

Ambulance 11
2014 Ford E450 Superduty/AEV ambulances. Primary duty ambulance is equipped with a Lucas II Continuous Cardiac Compression unit.  All units are AED equipped and carry a large assortment of medical supplies for Basic Life Support transport purposes.  Both ambulances were part of a rehab project where the old “box” was retained and a new cab and chassis added along with updated/upgraded LED lighting throughout.

The Boat
”The Boat” is a 13 ft flat bottomed aluminum boat. Housed at Central Station and towed by Forestry 2, “the boat” is used for any water or ice emergencies.  The Boat is equipped with a number of PFD’s, survival suits and throw ropes as well as the Rescue Alive Ice Sled.
