Georgetown Fire Department June Newsletter
GEORGETOWN — Chief Fred Mitchell is pleased to share what the Georgetown Fire Department has been up to during the month of June.
The department responded to 188 incidents, including:
- 7 Larkspur Lane electrical fire
- 75 West Main St. natural gas leak
- Route 95 Southbound motor vehicle crash
- 400 East Main St. vehicle fire
- 14 Stone Row carbon monoxide detector activation
- Mutual Aid: 6 (Four to Groveland, once to Boxford and once to Lawrence)
During the month of June, Lt. Governor Karyn Polito presented the Georgetown Fire Department with a Community Compact IT grant. Members of the department also attended the Firefighter Memorial Ceremony, and celebrated Deputy Chief Russ Moyer’s retirement at the end of the month.
Additionally, firefighters participated in monthly training programs and completed various inspections and child seat installations. The department held a firefighter CPR demonstration and met to plan the summer concert series happening in July.
Firefighters worked on routine building cleaning and maintenance, as well as conducted monthly operational checks on small engine and apparatus equipment.
