Georgetown Fire Department Newsletter August 2016

GEORGETOWN – During the last full month of summer, members of the Georgetown Fire Department were as busy as ever responding to multiple fires, providing mutual aid and interacting with the community. Chief Fred A. Mitchell Jr. is pleased to share what firefighters were up to last month.

Throughout August, the Georgetown Fire Department responded to 162 incidents:

Fire: 7
Explosions: 1
Recue and EMS: 54
Hazardous conditions (no fire): 6
Service calls: 73
Good intent calls: 11
False alarms: 10

In the last week of August, firefighters responded to five fires in 24 hours. Firefighters also provided mutual aid during a motor vehicle crash on route 95 southbound at Boxford (near exit 52).

Chief Mitchell and the Georgetown Fire Department thank the community for their continued support and encourage residents to check the department website for the latest news.
