Police Chief Donald Cudmore and Fire Chief Matt McKay would like to invite community members to attend a Sept. 11 remembrance at the Georgetown Central Fire Station on Monday.

Monday, Sept. 11, beginning at 9:45 a.m.
WHERE:
Georgetown Central Fire Station, 47 Central St., Georgetown, MA.
WHAT:
The Georgetown Police and Fire Departments will gather with community members to remember those lost on Sept. 11, 2001.
The remembrance will include a ringing of the fire station bells, lowering the American flag to half-mast, and a minute of complete silence.
Pastor Brent Fugate, the fire department chaplain, will lead a prayer.
The event will conclude with a second ringing of the fire station bells.
“We invite all members of our community to join us as we remember those lost on Sept. 11,” said Chief McKay. “We must never forget the sacrifice that so many made on that day.”
“Sept. 11 is a solemn day for all those who lived through it and all those who remember the thousands lost,” said Chief Cudmore. “We invite everyone from our community to join us, as we remember the firefighters, police officers, and all those who were lost.”
