The Georgetown Fire Department provides basic life support and transport capabilities to the community. Members of the department are trained to the level of Emergency Medical Technician-Basic
(EMT-B). The fire department responds to all medical calls in the town and is often called to assist neighboring communities with two licensed transporting ambulances.
The department staffs these two units with Firefighter/Emergency Medical Technicians. The department uses a third-party services to provide Advanced Life Support (ALS) measures in the pre-hospital setting. These two Ambulances handle the transporting of patients to area hospitals. In addition, members will respond in the Utility Vehicles with the Ambulance to render additional on scene assistance to the crew.
