Georgetown Fire Department Responds to Interstate 95 for Motorcycle Crash
GEORGETOWN — Chief Fred A. Mitchell Jr. reports that the Georgetown Fire Department responded to Interstate 95 south this afternoon for a motorcycle crash.
Just before 3 p.m., Georgetown Fire received a report of a single-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle on the southbound side of Interstate 95.
Upon arrival, crews on Engine 5, Ambulance 12 and Car 1 located a 62-year-old man from Wakefield in the median area just south of exit 54. His Harley Davidson motorcycle was about 60 feet away from him on the side of the highway.
Massachusetts State Police, along with the Georgetown Police Department and Rowley Fire Department also responded to the scene.
Georgetown firefighter/EMTs treated the man until a medical helicopter arrived to transport him to a Boston hospital.
The southbound side of Interstate 95 was closed for approximately 30 minutes during the incident.
